Privacy
This is a personal website. I collect as little as I can, and nothing I collect is sold or used for advertising.
Who is responsible
Christian J. Albrecht, Dietlikon, Switzerland. Email: contact@chrisjalbrecht.com. Write to me with any question about your data.
Hosting
This site runs on Squarespace. When you visit, Squarespace processes technical data such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you open, to deliver the site and keep it secure. Squarespace is based in the United States; for visitors from Switzerland and the EU it works through Squarespace Ireland Limited. Transfers to the US rely on recognised safeguards such as the Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and statistics
The site uses cookies that it needs to work. With your consent, Squarespace also sets analytics cookies, which tell me how many people visit and which stories they read. I see aggregated numbers, not individual visitors. You can refuse these cookies in the banner, change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings”, or delete them in your browser.
Newsletter
If you sign up for new stories by email, I store your email address in my Squarespace account and use it only to send you those emails. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in each email or by writing to me; I then delete your address. The sign-up form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that you are a person and not a bot. For this, Google processes technical data about your visit.
Contact form and email
If you write to me via the contact form or by email, I receive your name, email address and message. I use them only to reply and keep them for as long as the conversation needs, then delete them.
Fonts
The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google’s servers for this, which means Google sees your IP address.
Social media
The icons for Instagram, X, YouTube and LinkedIn are plain links. Nothing is sent to those platforms until you click one; after that, their own privacy policies apply.
Your rights
You can ask what data I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Write to contact@chrisjalbrecht.com. If you think I am not handling your data properly, you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, if you live in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
Changes
I update this page when the site changes. Last updated: October 2026.
